Fraction triangle

Definition of triangle:

  • Atriangle is one of the basic shapes of geometry: a polygon with three corners or vertices and three sides or edges which are line segment. A triangle with vertices A, B, and C is denoted triangle ABC.
  • InEuclidean geometry any three non-collinear points determine a unique triangle and a unique plane (i.e. a two-dimensional Euclidean space).

Fraction Definition:

Fraction:

 In number representation, fraction is a one of the form. Fraction can used to represent a part of whole. For example, there are 50 parts in which 9 are used. So the form of fraction can be written as follow `(9)/(50)` . Fraction has two parts where upper part is known as numerator and lower part is known as denominator. Here we use bar symbol to separate these numerator and denominator. In this example 9 is numerator and 50 is denominator

Example problem for fraction triangle:

Example 1:

In the given figure, find how many of the triangles are in the figure. Result of the triangle is in fraction.

Solution:

  Given

  In the given figure, different types of shapes are there, such as triangle, square, circle and Rounded rectangle.

  Total number of shapes = 6

  In this figure, there are 3 triangles.

  Fraction of the triangle = Number of triangle / Total number of shapes in the figure

   = 3 / 6

  = ½

Fraction of the triangle is 1 /2.

Example 2:

In the given figure, find how many colors of the triangles are in the figure. Result of the triangle colors is in fraction:

Solution:

   Given

  In the given figure, different types of colors are there, such as red, green and orange.

  Total number of triangles in given figure = 10

  In this figure, there are 3 colors.

  Fraction of the triangle for red color = Number of triangle in red color / Total number of triangles in the figure

  = 4 / 10

  = 2/5

Fraction of the triangle in red color is 2 /5.

 Fraction of the triangle for green color = Number of triangle in green color / Total number of triangles in the figure

  = 3 / 10

Fraction of the triangle in green color is 3 /10.

 Fraction of the triangle for orange color = Number of triangle in orange color / Total number of triangles in the figure

  = 3 / 10

Fraction of the triangle in orange color is 3 /10.

Answer:

  Fraction of the triangle

  Red = 4/10 or 2 /5

  Green = 3/10

  Orange = 3/10.
